The lesson book for private music teachers
Your week is the same students at the same times from September to June, plus every makeup lesson, recital, and snow day in between. Solo Scheduling keeps the weekly lessons repeating, makes the changes quick, and shows you what the year is worth.
Sound familiar?
It's 4:28. Your 4:00 is packing up her violin while her brother unpacks his cello for 4:30, and their mom is at the door asking if Maya can make up the lesson she missed, maybe Tuesday at 5? Your book shows Tuesday at 5 open. You say yes.
Tuesday at 5 is open in your book. It is not open on the family calendar, where your own kid's soccer practice has lived since the season started. Solo shows that calendar in the slot while you are booking, so you offer Wednesday at 6 instead and nobody has to text back later.
Set up in two minutes
Pick “Music Teacher” during setup and Solo starts you with the services music teachers actually book. Rename them, change the lengths, set your prices, and you are done.
- 30min 30 min
- 45min 45 min
- 60min 60 min
Add the extras you sell as priced add-ons, such as Extra 15m, Recital prep, or Sheet music. Appointment titles start with “Lesson” so they are easy to spot in any calendar.
How Solo fits your week
Appointment scheduling
30, 45, and 60-minute lessons at the times your students always come. Set a student to repeat weekly and the school year is booked. Move one lesson for a snow day, or end the series when lessons stop for the summer.

“Bach minuet, measures 12 to 16. Remind her about the metronome.” Dated notes under each student, newest first, so next week's lesson starts where this one ended.

You teach after school and in the early evening, which is exactly when your own family's practices, games, and pickups happen. See them in the slot before you offer it.

Know that this week is 24 lessons and $1,080, and see which months the studio actually earns in.

Say a 30-minute lesson is $35, 45 minutes is $50, and an hour is $65. A week of twelve 30s, eight 45s, and four hour-long lessons shows on This Week as 24 lessons and $1,080 the moment they are booked.
Insights shows the year by week, which for a teacher means seeing exactly what December and August cost you, and planning for them. Solo Pro adds a four-week forecast built from your weekly students, so you know in the first week of the month what the month is worth.

What Solo doesn't do
Solo doesn't send invoices, run monthly tuition autopay, track makeup credits, or give families a portal or booking link. If you need studio billing and a parent portal, My Music Staff and Fons are built for that, and they are priced like it.
If you teach on your own, book the next lesson at the end of this one or by text, and want your teaching week and your family's week to stop colliding, that is what Solo is for.

Questions from music teachers
- Is the client the student or the parent?
- Whoever you want to see on the schedule. Most teachers book under the student's name, so each student has their own history, and keep the parent's details in the notes.
- What happens over the summer?
- When lessons stop in June, delete the rest of a student's repeating lessons with “This and Future Events”, and start a new weekly series in September. Past lessons stay in the student's history and your insights.
- Can I teach siblings back to back?
- Yes. Book each sibling as their own student with their own lesson, so each one keeps their own notes and history.
- Can families pay or book lessons through Solo?
- No. Solo is your lesson book. Families reach you the way they do now and you book them in a few taps. Billing stays in whatever you use for invoices.
- What does it cost?
- Free for up to 3 active clients. Solo Pro is $7 a month or $70 a year for unlimited clients, all-time insights, and the cash flow forecast.
