The appointment book for stylists who rent their chair

You left the salon's front desk behind when you went independent. Solo Scheduling gives you the useful part of it back: a book that knows how long a full color takes, remembers every client's formula, and shows you the week's numbers without a second app.

Sound familiar?

A color client is processing. You have eleven minutes. Your phone has three texts: one asking for a cut Saturday, one asking to move Thursday's balayage, and one from your partner asking if you can do the 5:30 pickup on Thursday. You answer the first two from memory and the third with “probably”.

Saturday is fine. Thursday is a three-hour appointment that now ends at 5:45, and the pickup was on the family calendar the whole time. Solo shows you that calendar while you are moving the balayage, so “probably” becomes “no, can you?” before it becomes a problem.

Set up in two minutes

Pick “Hair Stylist” during setup and Solo starts you with the services hair stylists actually book. Rename them, change the lengths, set your prices, and you are done.

  • Cut 30 min
  • Cut & Color 60 min
  • Color & Style 90 min

Add the extras you sell as priced add-ons, such as Gloss, Treatment, or Blowout. Appointment titles start with “Hair” so they are easy to spot in any calendar.

How Solo fits your week

Appointment scheduling

Cut, Cut & Color, and Color & Style come with the durations you set, so a color never gets booked into a cut-sized gap. Add a gloss or a treatment on top with its own price.

Client notes

The formula, the toner, the “doesn't like the chair too far back” note, dated and stacked newest first under the client's name.

Family calendar

Move a three-hour appointment and see the school pickup it now runs into, before your partner does.

Import your calendar

If you have been keeping appointments in your phone's calendar since you went independent, setup turns that history into your client list in a few minutes.

Know your numbers

Say a cut is $55, cut and color is $150, color and style is $210, and a gloss adds $40. A week of twelve cuts, five cut-and-colors, two full color-and-styles, and three glosses shows up on This Week as 19 appointments and $1,950 the moment they are booked.

Insights breaks the year down by week and by client, so you can see that your busiest weeks are the ones before school pictures and the holidays, and that six clients account for a third of your revenue. Solo Pro adds a four-week forecast and your all-time totals.

What Solo doesn't do

Solo doesn't process cards, send appointment reminders, manage retail inventory, or give clients a booking link. If you want online booking and a card reader in one app, GlossGenius and Square Appointments are built for that, at a salon price.

If you are one stylist with one chair, book by text and Instagram DM, and want your schedule and your family's schedule to stop surprising each other, Solo was made for you.

Questions from hair stylists

Can I keep color formulas in Solo?
Yes. Add a dated note to the client after each service. The next time they are in the chair, the last formula is one tap away.
Can clients book online?
No. Solo is your book. You take requests the way you do now and book them yourself in a few taps.
What if a service runs longer than the default?
Pick a different duration when you book, or edit the appointment afterward. Your durations are presets, not rules.
Does Solo handle booth rent or product sales?
No. It tracks service revenue from your appointments. Rent and retail stay in whatever you use for bookkeeping.
What does it cost?
Free for up to 3 active clients. Solo Pro is $7 a month or $70 a year for unlimited clients, all-time insights, and the cash flow forecast.
